Bringing your practice across
Already running a practice elsewhere? You don’t have to add every client by hand. The import tool brings your existing caseload into Practicos from a spreadsheet, so you can pick up where you left off. Rachael moving Oakwood SLT across from her old system starts here.
You’ll find it as Import on the Clients page, and as Bring your practice across on your Getting started page.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”Export your clients from your current system to a spreadsheet, or gather their details in one. You don’t need everything — first and last name are enough to get a client in — but the more you include, the less you’ll fill in later.
Importing your clients
Section titled “Importing your clients”-
Download the template — a spreadsheet already set up with the right columns. Copy your details into it so everything lands in the right place.
-
Upload your completed file.
-
Preview — Practicos shows which rows are ready and which need attention before anything is saved, so you can check the import looks right first.
-
Results — you’ll see how many clients came across and how many need a second look.
The import carries across the core client details along with guardians, status and address — so a child client like Oliver Brown arrives with his guardian and contact preferences already in place.
Fixing rows that need attention
Section titled “Fixing rows that need attention”If some rows can’t be brought in — a missing name, or a date that doesn’t look right — you’ll get those rows back as a spreadsheet with a short note against each one explaining what to change. Fix just those, then upload that file again. You never have to redo the whole thing.
What next
Section titled “What next”Once your clients are across, you’re ready to book their appointments and write clinical notes. Prefer to add clients one at a time instead? See Adding clients.
